Overcome by homesickness, Sajó left New York and

                                                                returned to the town of his birth, Debrecen, in 1928.

                                                                The projects he designed after this bear mature stylistic
                                                                features. His ties to the town, manifest in his entire oeuvre,

                                                                lasted until his death.
