In 1928 Sajó returned home to Debrecen, where he debuted with an emblematic building,
the apartment complex of the Israelite community at 6 Hatvan Street, which became one
of the peak achievements of Art Deco in Hungary. This was followed by several villas,
                                                                                                “
which are now in a dilapidated state, partly demolished, or completely destroyed. Térey
likened the approach taken to this legacy by posterity to the sinking of Atlantis.
